The Summer Solstice (also known as Midsummer) is the longest day of the year. This is a time when the Sun is at its full strength, after this day the upcoming days will become shorter and shorter, reminding us of our own impermanence. This is a time of letting go and acceptance; a time to remember to be fully in the present moment, soaking up the nourishment of the sun, and being in the here and now.
This retreat is an opportunity to reflect on the first six months of the year, recharge your mind, reconnect with your body, reset your intentions and reclaim your power for the remaining six months of the year to come. The intention of this retreat is to help you reconnect with yourself (mind, body and soul), to remind us that we are the makers of our destiny. Daily Yoga and Meditation with journaling prompts, Workshops, Ice Baths, Purging Bonfires, Sound Bath and connection with other like minded souls. An experience sure to revive your soul, and connect you back with your purpose. Progress, not perfection.
As the premier Yoga Retreat on the east coast, Casa Om Potomac is a beautifully appointed estate home situated on 60 + acres along the Potomac River, hiking trails, swimming pool, hot tub, cold tub, jaw-dropping river views, and just a 90-minute drive from Washington, DC. There is kayaking, “spelunking” (caves), a nearby nature center with paved trails, and a peaceful, reinvigorating environment. Private massages available at an extra cost.
Our days begin and end with yoga and meditation. Private chef-prepared gourmet vegetarian meals, evening bonfires overlooking the river and private rooms with en-suite bathrooms are standard fare. Our yoga sessions will be led by retreat leader, Shadia Hafiz (E-RYT 200, CACEP, BY), and all classes will be tailored to student’s abilities and interests in mind. Yoga experience is not required nor is your participation. We look forward to hosting you for this epic experience.
